The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center (RPCCC) invites applications for a full-time position of Academic Cytopathologist at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank. Candidates with interest, experience or additional training in a Surgical Pathology subspecialty will be considered but this is not required.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and diagnostic skills in both aspiration and exfoliative cytopathology; will perform rapid on-site evaluation (ROSE) via telepathology for FNAs performed by interventional radiology and endoscopy; and will join a highly collegial Anatomic Pathology faculty with complete subspecialty sign-out. Leadership opportunities include cytopathology fellowship program director and medical director of cytotechnology program. Ample opportunities for clinical and translational research exist: RPCCC currently has over 20 core shared resources providing access to cutting-edge technical and analytical applications, comprehensive sample biorepositories and more. Independent research is encouraged, with protected time and financial support provided by the Department.

The qualified candidate must have completed a Cytopathology Fellowship and be Board Eligible or Board Certified and be eligible for New York State medical license. The comprehensive benefits package includes paid vacation, CME funds, retirement plan, health care insurance, relocation assistance, and a sign-on bonus. A competitive base salary will start at $300,000 and will commensurate with experience and rank. This position is eligible for J-1 and H-1B visa sponsorship for qualified candidates
