Anatomic Pathology, Part-Time Staff Pathologist Position

Harbor-UCLA Medical Center (HUMC) is a recruiting a part-time Surgical Pathologist. HUMC is a large, academic, public safety-net hospital and Level I trauma center in the city of Torrance, Southwestern region of Los Angeles (LA) County. It serves as the flagship for LA County's Department of Health Services and provides comprehensive healthcare to a diverse patient population. The Pathology Department offers a full range of services, including anatomic pathology (AP) and clinical pathology (CP), and provides training for medical students and residents. Fellowship training is available in anatomic pathology, as general surgical pathology.
Qualified Candidates:
- Board certified or eligible in AP or combined AP/CP
- Subspecialty fellowship or experience in Dermatopathology, Soft tissue pathology, Neuropathology, Genitourinary pathology, Women’s health, and/or
- General Surgical pathology preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide general surgical pathology coverage on a rotational basis with other faculty and provide high-quality diagnostic services
- Conduct educational case sign-outs and participate in teaching programs for residents, fellows, and medical students
- Ensure that pathology reports include all information necessary for accurate test interpretation
- Collaborate effectively with hospital clinical teams and laboratory staff
