A CLOSER LOOK AT FCS
For more than 40 years, Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute (FCS) has built a national reputation for excellence. Today we have over 250 physicians, 220 nurse practitioners and physician assistants and nearly 100 locations in our statewide network. Utilizing innovative clinical research, cutting-edge technologies and advanced treatments, we are committed to providing world-class cancer care.
Across our network, FCS provides the newest cancer therapies, some not yet available elsewhere, through convenient access to clinical trials. FCS offers patients access to more clinical trials than any private oncology practice in Florida. In recent years, the majority of new cancer drugs approved for use in the U.S. were studied in clinical trials with FCS participation prior to approval. Through our partnership with Sarah Cannon Research Institute, we offer early-phase clinical trials at three Drug Development Units (DDUs)– one in Sarasota and two in Central Florida. At any point in time, more than 150 active clinical trials are underway at FCS.
As a physician-owned and physician-led practice, we prioritize patient well-being and ensure that medical decisions are driven by expertise, ethics, and evidence-based care. Across our practice, clinical, financial and administrative functions are unified in a single, cohesive management services organization, Core Ventures. This ensures that we have the business, clinical intelligence and tools to position FCS for future success. This structure creates superior value and enables physicians to spend optimal time with patients, focused on providing the highest quality of care and patient experience. At FCS, we place emphasis on ensuring physician voices are valued, career growth is supported and that physicians have the tools necessary to make a lasting impact—on their career, their patients and the future of cancer care.
