Contract Pathologist Opportunity – Future Digital Pathology Focus
Burlington, North Carolina (USA)
A large, well-established group of pathologists affiliated with a major reference laboratory is seeking a Board-Certified AP/CP pathologist with fellowship training in Cytopathology to join our team. Subspecialty interest or experience in gynecologic and/or breast pathology is desirable. Candidates with several years of post-fellowship experience are preferred. We offer a high-volume, diagnostically rich practice including approximately 120,000 surgical pathology cases (predominantly biopsy specimens) and 135,000 cytology cases annually, with advanced digital cytology (Genius system).
Digital Pathology Expansion
We are actively implementing digital histology with planned remote sign-out capabilities, providing pathologists with structured opportunities for remote work and increased flexibility. This initiative represents a significant evolution in our practice model and supports a modern, technology-enabled diagnostic workflow.

Compensation is competitive and based on a fee-for-service model.
The laboratory is located in Burlington, North Carolina—a 342,000 square foot facility housing the Center for Esoteric Testing and regional operations. The site processes over 100 million tests annually and employs more than 1,400 staff.
